Self-awareness in complicated times

Narrative v. facts.

Entitlement v. responsibility.

Binary thinking v. nuance.

Winning v. connection.

We live in complicated times, and increasingly I am thinking about the role self-awareness has to play in helping us navigate them.

The word 'values' may have been overused to the point of devaluation. But values themselves are essential.

This is no time for half measures. The usual identikit bullshit bingo lexicon (respect, integrity, excellence, diversity) won't cut it.
